Teaching
Teaching, a fundamental mission of the College of Science, stands with distinction because of the wide range of undergraduate majors and graduate programs, the high quality of the faculty and students, and the vigor of a curriculum that engages students in discovery and active learning.
Science faculty integrate classroom activities with their research programs and with their work in the world. They recognize that quality research programs bring new concepts and up-to-the-minute information to the classroom, that inspired teaching leads to creative new research ideas, and that scientific knowledge has the power to improve human lives. Our goal is to provide comprehensive undergraduate and graduate education for future scientists, professionals, and science educators, and for all students who will live in a future significantly shaped by scientific discovery.
